I need some legal advice…?

Need some legal advice… I was mauled by a stray pit-bull 5 weeks ago. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks with a broken arm, fractured kneecap as well as several deep lacerations. I didn’t want to be a jerk and file a lawsuit against the owner, but these medical bills are going to be a lot more than I anticipated. What should I do?
